More than just a place to eat, Yam Spice has evolved into a safe space where individuals can find solace and community support. Between 10 AM and 12 noon, church volunteers offer counseling and coaching to those who need guidance or simply a listening ear. Some people arrive feeling hopeless or burdened by personal struggles, but through warm meals and heartfelt conversations, they leave with a sense of encouragement and purpose. Over the past two years, this initiative has provided over 1,600 meals, featuring dishes like jollof rice, fufu, and goat curry—foods that some may have only seen online but never had the chance to try.
